Specificity	This antibody recognises a common antigenic determinant that is found in the LPS of Salmonella enteriditis (Group D), Salmonella typhimurium (Group B) and Salmonella paratyphi (Group A). This antibody is thought to recognise the '0-12' antigen [2-D-mannose (1-4) I-ramnose (1-3)-D galactose] of salmonella LPS. A similar sequence is found in Group E, which may account for the weak cross reactivity observed with bacteria of this group.
