Clone Name MRQ-41
Applications IHC
Recommend Dilution Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin sections: 1/100 - 1/500.
Instructions for use:
1. Cut 3-4 μm section of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue and place on positively charged slides; dry overnight at 58°C.
2. Deparaffinize, rehydrate, and epitope retrieve; the preferred method is the use of Heat Induced Epitope Retrieval (HIER) techniques in conjunction with a pressure cooker. The preferred method allows for simultaneous deparaffinization, rehydration, and epitope retrieval. Upon completion, rinse with 5 changes of distilled or deionized water.
3. If using HRP detection system, place slides in peroxide block for 10 minutes; rinse. If using AP detection system, omit this step.
Positive control: Thyroid, thyroid follicular carcinoma, thyroid papillary carcinoma
Staining pattern: Cytoplasmic
Reactivity Human
Host Mouse
Clonality Monoclonal
Specificity

This antibody is useful in identification of thyroid carcinoma of the papillary and follicular types. Anti-Thyroglobulin, combined with TTF1 are demonstrable by immunohistochemistry assay in the majority of thyroid neoplasms. A panel of antibodies for Thyroglobulin, TTF1, CK-7, CK19, and CK20 is useful when thyroid is the possible primary site of a metastatic tumor.

Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C.

Gene Name thyroglobulin
Background

Thyroglobulin is the glycoprotein precursor of the iodinated thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Thyroglobulin is obtained from the thyroid gland and exhibits the general properties of the globulins. The human thyroglobulin (hTG) is a high molecular weight glycoprotein (605 kDa) found in the thyroid follicular cells.
