Protein Description	Recombinant Human soluble TIE-1 was fused with the Fc part of Human IgG1. The soluble receptor protein consists of the full extracellular domain (Met1-Glu749). The recombinant mature TIE-1/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein. Human TIE-1/Fc monomer has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 105 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, the recombinant protein migrates as an approximately 125 kDa protein in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Storage	Store Lyophilized at -20°C. Reconstituted sTIE-1/Fc should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C to -70°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles!

Bioactivity	Biological: Since a ligand for TIE-1 has not yet been identified, the recombinant protein was not tested for biological activity.

Summary	This gene encodes a member of the tyrosine protein kinase family. The encoded protein plays a critical role in angiogenesis and blood vessel stability by inhibiting angiopoietin 1 signaling through the endothelial receptor tyrosine kinase Tie2. Ectodomain cleavage of the encoded protein relieves inhibition of Tie2 and is mediated by multiple factors including vascular endothelial growth factor.
