Specificity | This antibody recognises the HMB-45 antigen, an intracytoplasmic antigen expressed by the majority of melanomas and with other tumours demonstrating melanocytic differentiation. Tumours of lymphoid, epithelial, glial and mesenchymal origin are negative. Normal adult melanocytes do not label with this antibody, although fetal and neonatal melanocytes stain variably. |
