Recommend Dilution	Peptide ELISA: 1/16000 (Detection limit). Western Blot: Approx 48-50kDa band observed in lysates of cell line A549 (calculated MW of 43.4kDa according to Human NP_002551.2). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings with different antibodies from other commercial sources. Recommended concentration: 0.3-1µg/ml. Primary incubation 1 hour at room temperature. Preliminary testing was unsuccessful on Mouse and Rat Kidney and Liver for this particular batch. Immunofluorescence: 10 µg/ml. Strong expression of the protein seen in the cytoplasm of A431 cells. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections: 5 µg/ml in Paraffin embedded Human Uterus.

Background	The product of this gene belongs to the family of purinoceptors for ATP. This receptor functions as a ligand-gated ion channel with high calcium permeability. The main pharmacological distinction between the members of the purinoceptor family is the relative sensitivity to the antagonists suramin and PPADS. The product of this gene has the lowest sensitivity for these antagonists. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for this gene although their full-length natures have not been determined.
