Specifications
Product Data | |
Clone Name | 5D5 |
Applications | ELISA, IHC |
Recommend Dilution | ELISA: High binding constant allows this antibody to be used in a Sandwich ELISA with clone number 4H9 (BM357); Sensitivity: 25 pg/ml. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections: 1-10 µg/ml. Protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections e.g. trypsin or pronase is required. Antigen retrieval using heat treatment (Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0) prior to staining of paraffin sections is required. |
Reactivity | Human |
Host | Mouse |
Clonality | Monoclonal |
Immunogen | Synthetic Human Corticotropin Releasing Factor |
Specificity | Recognises a different epitope than clone 4H9 (BM357). 5D5 mAb binding decreases only partly after CA treatment. It is possible that the antigen determinant is exposed more openly after DEP modification of histidine residues, whereas this determinant becomes barely accesible after lysine modification. Human serum, containing CRF-binding protein, inhibits the binding of CRF to this antibody. |
Formulation | PBS State: Purified State: Liquid purified IgG fraction Preservative: 0.09% Sodium Azide |
Concentration | lot specific |
Purification | Affinity Chromatography on Protein G |
Conjugation | Unconjugated |
Storage Condition | Store undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. |
Gene Name | corticotropin releasing hormone |

Background | CRF precursor is a 41-amino acid peptide derived from a 196-amino acid preprohormone. CRF is a neuroendocrine hormone secreted by the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus and is a key player in the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis. It is also synthesized in peripheral tissues, such as T lymphocytes and is highly expressed in the placenta. Neuronal CRF is important in a variety of diverse roles including, memory, depression, stress, kidney function, parturition, metabolism and feeding (to mention a few). |
