Background | Substance P is an undecapeptide resulting from the cleavage of Protachykinin-1 (UniProt P20366) into several biologically active peptides. It is mainly secreted by neurons and is involved in biological processes like nociception and inflammation. Substance P mediates interactions between neurons and immune cells, with nerve- derived substance P modulating immune cell proliferation and cytokine production. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with Substance P coupled to a carrier protein. |
