Background	CRAMP (Cathelin-Related Anti-Microbial Peptide) is the mouse analogue of human LL-37 peptide, which is the antibacterial C-terminus of hCAP-18 (human cathelicidin). It is a polypeptide that is primarily stored in the lysosomes of macrophages and polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs). CRAMP forms an amphipathic α-helix similar to other antimicrobial peptides. Abundant expression of CRAMP is found in myeloid precursors and neutrophils. CRAMP serves a critical role in mammalian innate immune defense against invasive bacterial infection. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with CRAMP coupled to a carrier protein.
