Storage Condition | Store vial at -20° C or below prior to opening. This vial contains a relatively low volume of reagent (25 µL). To minimize loss of volume dilute 1:10 by adding 225 µL of the buffer stated above directly to the vial. Recap, mix thoroughly and briefly centrifuge to collect the volume at the bottom of the vial. Use this intermediate dilution when calculating final dilutions as recommended below. Store the vial at -20°C or below after dilution. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. |

Background | This antibody is designed, produced, and validated as part of a collaboration between Rockland and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). ASAP1 (ArfGAP with SH3 Domain, Ankyrin Repeat and PH Domain 1) is a Protein Coding gene. This gene encodes an ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) GTPase-activating protein. The GTPase-activating activity is stimulated by phosphatidylinositol 4,5-biphosphate (PIP2), and is greater towards ARF1 and ARF5, and lesser for ARF6. This gene maybe involved in regulation of membrane trafficking with cell growth or actin cytoskeleton remodeling by binding to both SRC and PIP2. ASAP1 may function as a signal transduction protein involved in the differentiation of fibroblasts into adipocytes and possibly other cell types (By similarity) and plays a role in ciliogenesis. Anti-ASAP1 is useful for researchers interested in GTPase activities and EGFR1 Signaling Pathway. |

Note | Anti-ASAP1 Antibody has been tested for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Expect a band approximately ~125kDa using positive control lysates over-expressing ASAP1, or other specific lysates or tissues. Although not tested, this antibody could be useful in Immunofluorescence or Immunohistochemistry. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. |
