Background	IL-9 is mainly produced by Th9 cells, in addition to mast cells, eosinophils, neutrophils, other lymphocyte subsets can also secrete. The mature molecule contains 126 amino acids, including 10 cysteine. The molecular weight of the mature molecule is 30 ~ 40kd due to the different glycosylation. Mouse IL-9 gene was located on chromosome 13 and human IL-9 gene on chromosome 5. They had similar gene composition, with 5 exons and 4 introns, respectively. The size of 5 exons in human and mouse is the same, the homology of nucleic acid and protein is 69, the receptor of EPO 55. IL-9 is a member of erythropoietin receptor superfamily. α chain and y chain shared with il-2r il-4r il-7r -15r shared . IL-9r were widely expressed in lymphocyte subsets, hematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells, macrophages, dendritic cells and airway epithelial cells. The surface of immature neurons determines the diversity of IL-9.
