Recommend Dilution	ELISA Direct: To detect Murine RANTES by Direct ELISA (using 100 µl/well antibody solution) a concentration of ~1.0 µg/ml of this antibody is required. This Biotinylated polyclonal purified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant Murine RANTES. Sandwich: To detect Murine RANTES by Sandwich ELISA (using 100 µl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25-1.0 µg/ml of this antibody is required. This Biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with Anti Murine RANTES (PP1081P1 or PP1081P2) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant mRANTES. Western Blot To detect Murine RANTES by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant mRANTES is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Background	RANTES is a chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T helper cells and eosinophils. It causes the release of histamine from basophils and activates eosinophils. It binds to CCR1, CCR3, CCR4 and CCR5 and is one of the major HIV suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T cells. Recombinant RANTES protein induces a dose-dependent inhibition of different strains of HIV 1, HIV 2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). It is T cell and macrophage specific, induced by mitogens, and belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.
