Storage Store lyophilized (preferably in a desiccator) at -20°C and in aliquots at -80°C.
Reconstituted antibody can be stored at 4°C for a limited period of time; it does not show decline in activity after two weeks at 4°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Stability Shelf life: one year from despatch.
Bioactivity Biological: In vitro gluconeogenesis assay in primary hepatocytes was performed, showing the human adiponectin derived from mammalian cells can inhibit glucose production. The ED50 was ~6 µg/ml.

Summary This gene is expressed in adipose tissue exclusively. It encodes a protein with similarity to collagens X and VIII and complement factor C1q. The encoded protein circulates in the plasma and is involved with metabolic and hormonal processes. Mutations in this gene are associated with adiponectin deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]
Protein Families Cell culture and/or animal studies.
ELISA.
Western Blot.
Protein Pathways Adipocytokine signaling pathway, PPAR signaling pathway, Type II diabetes mellitus
