Background | The monoclonal antibody to human IFN-? (clone MD-1) was first described in 1985. It has shown to neutralize the antiviral activity of both natural and recombinant human IFN-? and in a Western Blot the antibody reacts with the 20 kDa and 25 kDa polypeptides present in natural human IFN-? (van der Meide P.H. et al. 1985). The MD-1 antibody has been descriped as useful in a sandwich ELISA (Wassenaar A. et al. 1995, Wierenga E.A. et al. 1990 and Yazdanbakhsh M et al. 1993). Further, the antibody has proven to cross react with rhesus macaque IFN-? and can be used for immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissues (Wassenaar A. et al. 1995 and Kap Y. et al. 2009). The MD-1 antibody has been reported for use in intracellular flow cytometric analysis (Hamann D. et al. 1996). Other available formats: unconjugated and FITC labeled. |
