Protein Description	Recombinant human R-Spondin-1 is a 26.7 kDa protein consisting of 243 amino acid residues.  Due to glycosylation, R-Spondin-1 migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 40.0 kDa by SDS PAGE analysis under reducing conditions.
Storage	Store lyophilized at 2-8°C for 6 months or at -20°C long term. After reconstitution store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month  or (in aliquots) at -20°C long term. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Stability	Shelf life: one year from despatch.
Bioactivity	R-spondin-1 enhances BMP-2 mediated differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells. The expected ED50 is 1.0-3.0 ug/ml.

Summary	This gene encodes a secreted activator protein with two cysteine-rich, furin-like domains and one thrombospondin type 1 domain. The encoded protein is a ligand for leucine-rich repeat-containing G-protein coupled receptors (LGR proteins) and positively regulates the Wnt signaling pathway. In mice, the protein induces the rapid onset of crypt cell proliferation and increases intestinal epithelial healing, providing a protective effect against chemotherapy-induced adverse effects.
